With 2010 well behind us the verdict of Game of the Year has pretty much been put to rest. Most gaming websites and organisations seem to agree that Red Dead Redemption was the best game of 2010. It even won the VGA award for game of the year. While I’m not one to argue with professionals, I believe that every person is entitled to their opinion of what game truly defined their virtual experience of 2010. With that being said, I’d have to personally say that, while Red Dead was a phenomenal game which was undoubtedly worthy of its esteem, for me it was Halo: Reach that rekindled my inner love for the saga and resurrected the fanboy within me. So my decision would have to be Halo: Reach, hands down, with Mass Effect 2 following in close second.
Well enough of my bias, how about you, what was your utmost favourite game of 2010? What was the game that you could devote endless hours of your life to without regret? If you had to choose only one release the entire year which would it be? Embrace your inner fanboy.
